If you’re an avid hunter/fisher, McGrath has lots going on in our neck of the woods. There are many different animals to hunt; Sheep, bears, moose and everything in between. Our moose hunting season in September brings in a lot of tourists and mighty hunters. Visitors can hire a guide for a variety of different hunts, or if you’re a pro, you can hire a pilot to drop you off at a remote hunting location. But please be sure to respect any animal you shoot, and take good care of your meat, especially if you plan on donating it to locals. To us, these animals are NOT trophies, they are what we survive on, and they mean so much more to us than just a trophy. If you are not much of a hunter, and more of a gatherer, we also have an abundant variety of edible berries and mushrooms.
